Other important milestone Since ABCT pioneered the three
festivals for the last four year. Now we are able to continue
on a permanent yearly basis with the help of SFCVB (San Francisco Visitor’s
Bureau) to promote these traditional festivals to worldwide visitors
via their network. Lunar New Year’s Eve Jiaozi
and Tang Yuan workshop and dinner was a very successful event on the
5th of February this year. Upcoming Zhongzi (tamale) or the Dragon Boat Festival is scheduled to happen on Saturday June 7, 2008. World TV Channel will jointly plan to expand the festivities with various entertainments in addition to the making zhongze workshop in front of Eastern Bakery located in the heart of Chinatown. . Dance performance/walk also will start on the 7th of June until the end of August. Tea and Moon Cake Reception/dinner is planned to take place at the Cathay House on Friday September 5th to kick-off the Moon Festival Street Fair. Also, as part of the Festivities, a Moon Festival concert of Chinese instrumental and vocal music is in the planning stage with the Noon Time Concert Series regularly held at the Old St. Mary.
